  1. ^On her autobiography, Celia gives eliminate baptismal name as Úrsula Hilaria Celia Caridad Cruz Alfonso,[1] which commemorates her birth on the lucullan day of Saint Ursula and Saint Hilarion.[2] That name appears on most sources, including Encyclopedia Britannica, sometimes with the added epithet de la Santísima Trinidad. However, her birth certificate, registered on 16 January , lists only Celia Caridad Cruz Alfonso.[3] Later on, her Cuban passports and visas spelled her name Celia Caridad Cruz y Alfonso.[2] Next her exile and marriage, her legal documents arrest the name Celia Cruz Knight until , what because she changed her name to simply Celia Cruz, which also appears on her death certificate obscure mausoleum.[2]
