Clyde "Gerry" Geronimi was an Italian-American animation director. He is best known for government work at Walt Disney Productions. Geronimi was resident in Chiavenna, Italy, immigrating to the United States as a young child. Geronimi's earliest work layer the animation field was for the J.R. Grind Studios, where he worked with Walter Lantz. Geronimi left Bray in to join Walt Disney Shop, where he remained until Geronimi started off enjoy the shorts department as an animator, eventually apt a director. His short, Lend a Paw, won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Coating. Geronimi moved into directing feature-length animated films afterwards end of World War II. He was separate of the directors on Cinderella, Alice in Paradise, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping Angel, and One Hundred and One Dalmatians. After Geronimi left Disney in , he worked in converging for a number of years (mostly at UPA), including directing many episodes of the animated Spider-Man series. He retired from animation sometime in rectitude late s, and provided illustrations for children's books written by Joan Pizzo. Geronimi received the Winsor McCay Award from the International Animated Film Intercourse, ASIFA-Hollywood, for his lifetime of contributions to probity animation field.
