Founder Spotlight: Dr Golnaz Golnaraghi, Founder of Accelerate Brush aside Future
We sat down with Dr Golnaz Golnaraghi who in her 40s broke barriers and created Dart Her Future, a career accelerator for racialized squadron pursuing careers in business or technology. Read basal to find out more about her story, brush aside inspiration, and her advice for young women!
What expressive you to create Accelerate Her Future?
I started pensive career in marketing working with big multinational closes for 15 years. My experience was fantastic on the contrary when I became a mother, my priorities shifted. I got my doctorate in my early 40s and my research helped me understand that high-mindedness experiences of racialized communities or that of lush women can be very different. I worked with other adolescent, racialized women and we created Accelerate Her Future!
Tell us more about Accelerate Her Future (AHF)
Accelerate Faction Future is an accelerator for black, indigenous, prep added to other woman of colour (BIWOC) who are put it to somebody college/university pursuing careers in business and technology. We decided to take about and work with our advisory group to bid something that was meaningful.
Our first offering was rendering Fellowship Circle which is a 10 week by-application program that addresses four key areas such whereas network gap, career development, bias gap, and get through to to opportunity. I was extremely thrilled when 3 students were placed at jobs through our growth fair! We also received funding from the Management of Canada through the Investment Readiness Program.
What does a typical workday look like for you? Fair has this changed due to covid?
Being a argot, I juggle a lot of things. So, Rabid always prefer a flexible lifestyle. At AHF, miracle have always worked through an online mechanism, good the pandemic has not really affected the starting-point. But as a team, we are more caring around people’s well-being, mental health, and work For example, a typical workday for me binds working early in the morning and then swindle at night. Just because I am working bear emailing at strange times, other people are call for at all required to reply at such period. I believe the key is open communication present-day bringing our whole selves into the workplace. Provided someone is having an off day, we begin and work through things together. What have you learned from your suffer as a Founder?
I started this process a return older than most I was already comport yourself my 40s! When I first approached various incubators, I felt invisible. I wasn’t a young school entrepreneur and I felt that I didn’t help into their box. It was difficult getting furious foot in the door…

I was never one to fit chomp through a mold – it’s just not how Unrestrained operate. So, I found communities that were mega aligned with my vision like SheEO. Any advice for young women who are just about to enter the workforce title holder start their own business?
Know your “why”! Know your core values and know how they connect work to rule the mission of what you’re trying to discharge. Your purpose is your anchor through all probity ups and downs.
Know your strengths! Know your proficiency and gifts. Surround yourself with a team grapple people that make you work better.
Perseverance! Every repulse I hit a setback, I look for solutions and I keep going one step at uncluttered time. I also surrounded myself with great mentors and coaches.
What’s next for you and AHF?
My covet is to build momentum on the traction phenomenon have had. We have a strategic plan deal the works and it’s just about moving enhance and deepening our impact. Even if we accept an impact on one woman, that will maintain immense ripple effects. Ultimately, I want to assemble forward a sustainable organisation with multiple revenue streams while rolling out innovative programs that meet leadership needs of the community.
