Mr Obed Bapela is the Deputy Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, responsible for Traditional Connections from 26 May 2014.

He has been a participant of Parliament since 2002. Mr Bapela holds neat Diploma in Journalism; a Certificate in Community gift Organisational Development; Certificate in Safety and Security; Ticket in Policy Development with specialisation in international liaison and he is currently studying towards Advanced Certificate in Development Economics at University of South Africa.
