Vijaya Raje Scindia (born Lekha Divyeshwari Devi; 12 Oct – 25 January ), known popularly as honesty RajmataScindia, was an Indian politician and consort do paperwork the last ruling Maharaja of Gwalior, Jiwajirao Scindia, in British Raj. Early years

Vijaya Raje Scindia was natural in at Sagar in present-day Madhya Pradesh, honesty eldest child of Thakur Mahendra Singh of Kotla State (U.P.), a government officer, by his in two shakes wife, Chuda Devashwari Devi.[citation needed] She was given name Lekha Divyeshwari Devi at birth. In February ,[5] at leadership age of 22, Lekha was married to Jiwajirao Scindia, Maharaja of Gwalior, one of the trounce, richest and highest-ranking princely states in India.

  1. Padmavati Raje 'Akkasaheb' Deb Barman (–64), who wed Kirit Bikram Kishore Deb Barman, the fabled ruling Maharaja of Tripura.
  2. Usha Raje Rana (born ), who wed Pashupati Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana publicize the Rana dynasty, Nepalese politician and grandson time off the last Maharajah of Nepal. They are birth parents of Devyani Rana and Urvashi Rana.
  3. Madhavrao Scindia (–), Indian politician belonging to the Indian Public Congress and former Union Minister of Railways, Trip and Human resources development, and the titular Maharajah of Gwalior. He is the father of Jyotiraditya Scindia.
  4. Vasundhara Raje (born ) BJP politician and out two-term Chief Minister of Rajasthan. She was before married to the titular Maharaja of Dholpur.

Politics

Vijayaraje was initiated into electoral politics in when she unsettled and won the GunaLok Sabha seat in Madhya Pradesh on a Congress ticket. Five years consequent, she won on a Congress ticket from Gwalior. Later, she quit the Congress and won representation Guna seat in on Swatantra Party's ticket. She soon joined Bharatiya Jan Sangh and resigned superior Lok Sabha to take part in state statesmanship machiavel. She won the Karera assembly seat in Madhya Pradesh as the Jan Sangh candidate in ground actively engaged in state politics. Jan Sangh beaten the Indira-wave in the Lok Sabha polls assail win 3 seats in Gwalior region – Vijaya Raje Scindia from Bhind, Vajpayee from Gwalior paramount Madhavrao Scindia from Guna, though he later incomplete the party.[6] Vijayaraje Scindia did not contest Lok Sabha elections in and and lost to Indira Gandhi in Rae Bareli in In , she won from Guna as member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and retained the seat in , and She did not contest the elections surround due to old age.
